How We Started
Beauty and the Businessman
Originally hailing from Maryland, husband and wife duo, AJ and Kami Bellamah, founded Salon Renter during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Kami, an esthetician by trade, suddenly landed in the frustrating position of having to find another beauty space after her previous studio shutdown in the wake of the pandemic. Her problem: where to look?
AJ, a commercial property manager by trade, having personal experience in the salon real estate market, shared this frustration from a different perspective. As a landlord, he found that the traditional commercial real estate websites completely ignored the growing industry trend of salon booths and suites for rent. The only reliable means of advertising salon suites was through social media. His problem: where to list?
From this collaboration of the beauty and the businessman, Salon Renter was born.
